A Short History of Patrick Brady
Patrick Brady was given a guitar for Christmas when he was 16. He taught himself to play and within a few years was lead guitarist/vocalist with Irish band Cromwell. The other members of the group were Michael Kiely and Derek Dawson.
Cromwell toured allover Ireland and released an album – At The Gallop - and a string of singles, notably Guinness Rock and You Got it Made. These vinyl records now fetch high prices on the collectors market in London.
When Cromwell broke up Patrick Brady and Michael Kiely formed The Establishment. They toured extensively and were invited to play a residency in The Hilton Hotel in oil rich Dubai. This lead to many other engagements in The United Arab Emirates and Bahrain.
The duo built up a large expatriate following over the next few years.
When The Establishment split, Patrick continued performing as a solo artist in Five Star Hotels in the region before moving to Australia to continue his career.
Patrick Brady joined The Irish Drovers in 1990 and toured Australia for many years while maintaining a residency at The Sydney Hilton Hotel.
With the demise of The Irish Drovers Patrick set up his own show –The Patrick Brady Irish Spectacular performing in all of the top clubs in New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia. He has released two cd’s – The Irish Rover and Dreaming of Ireland and appeared on Mornings with Kerri-Anne on Channel 9 and at the final of Australian Idol.
Patrick regularly plays as a guest solo act on cruise ships allover the world as well as at corporate and club events through out Australia.
